4. Who is in charge of transportation in Connecticut?

 

 

The Connecticut Department of Transportation (ConnDOT) is in charge of the majority of Public Transportation in Connecticut.  It is called Connecticut Transit (CTTRANSIT).

 

In the Greater Waterbury area ConnDOT contracts CTTRANSIT to North East Transportation (NET) to operate the fixed route bus system and the Paratransit system.

 

ConnDOT also contracts CTTRANSIT to operate a limited fixed route bus system in Waterbury and Cheshire.  And contracts with the Greater New Haven Transit District to operate the ADA Paratransit service in cooperation with North East Transportation in Waterbury and Cheshire.
